Your Next Step Starts Here

When You've Been Holding It Together for Too Long
On the outside
You move through your days looking capable and composed. You meet expectations, show up for others, keep things running. From the outside, it probably looks like you have it together.
But inside, something doesn't feel settled.
Internally
There's an anxiety that doesn't fully go away. Some days feel numb or far off; other days everything feels like too much. It's hard to put into words, but you don't always feel fully present in your own life.
This isn't new. It's built up over time, shaped by past experiences, long-standing patterns, loss that never got fully processed, or the weight of major transitions navigated without much support.
How you learned to cope
You learned to cope by staying busy, staying strong, keeping things contained. Those strategies got you through.
But over time, they can leave you feeling distant from yourself. The spark you once had feels dimmer, and you may wonder when exactly you stopped feeling like yourself.
What you may be longing for
Lately, there may be a longing underneath it all.
If this sounds like you, you’re in the right place.
A Note Before You Begin
It's natural to feel uncertain about starting something new. Many clients arrive with questions, mixed feelings, or a sense that something needs to change, even before they know exactly what or how.
Therapy is a space where those questions belong. You don't have to have it figured out before we start.
Common Questions About Getting Started
-
The first session is a conversation, not an evaluation. We'll talk through what's brought you to therapy, what you're hoping for, and whether this feels like the right fit, for you and for me.
There's no agenda beyond that. Explore the Therapy Journey →
-
If you're asking the question, that's usually reason enough to explore it further. Many people I work with aren't in crisis. They're simply at a point where managing alone has stopped feeling sustainable. A free consultation is a low-pressure way to find out.
-
Yes. Online sessions offer the same relational, depth-oriented approach as in-person work, the same depth, the same attention, available anywhere in California. For many clients, the flexibility is what makes therapy sustainable at all.
-
I see clients in person at my Orinda office, with easy access from Lafayette, Moraga, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Danville, and other nearby East Bay and Tri-Valley communities, plus online therapy anywhere in California.

It varies. Some clients work with me for six to twelve months; others stay longer because the work keeps deepening. I’ll always be honest with you about how things are going. There’s no formula. The work ends when you feel genuinely different, not just more informed about yourself.
